One of the
greatest joys in life is freeing the imagination to create and
produce, which Scott has actively pursued as an avocation for
over four decades. Breaking free of the inertia
of perpetual consumption and exploring a universe of media we
call music and art evokes new ways of thinking, hearing, seeing,
and most of all, doing. Exploring via doing opens avenues of communication -- impelled by curiosity and a fascination
with the unfamiliar, freely learning and exchanging the essence of
self with others.
Scott communicates
visually through a variety of artistic media -- currently
ceramics, tree-limbs and cartoon drawings -- by creating outdoor sculpture,
tree-hewn furniture and graphics
that evoke natural, musical and primitive elements.
He communicates audibly as a jazz and blues musician, playing
electric bass with a variety of musicians in a variety of
venues.
